Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
St. Dunstan's Theatre Guild was founded in 1932! We are named for Saint Dunstan, often regarded as a patron saint of the arts. The name was suggested by a member of the Booth family (founders of the Cranbrook Educational Community). We are not a religious organization.
What is your primary product or service?
We present professional quality live plays and musical theatre at affordable, community theatre prices.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
A friendly and welcoming theatre group, we produce 3 main stage shows and a theatre-for-children play in the historic St. Dunstan's Playhouse. Our June production is performed outdoors, under the stars, in an authentic Greek theater behind the playhouse on the Cranbrook campus. It provides a unique experience in this area -- live theatre in a beautiful, casual, outdoor setting.
Provide detailed directions to your location
St. Dunstan's Theatre is located at 400 Lone Pine Road, (north of Quarton Rd.) between Woodward and Lahser in Bloomfield Hills.
What type of payments do you accept?
Our ticket counter accepts cash, checks, Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. Tickets can also be purchased at www.ShowClix.com.
Which areas do you service?
We welcome theatre patrons from the entire metro Detroit area.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
St. Dunstan's Theatre Guild is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff. All work is done by our members and other volunteers.
What are your hours of operation?
We are open during performances. Our ticket counter opens 1 hour prior to curtain.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
"We enjoyed this so much -- terrific show, and everyone is so friendly!"
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
"The worst thing about it, it's named for a saint.
But don't think it's holy, 'cause it certainly ain't!"
