NBC-HIS was founded in 1981. We have been in business for 33 years.

The business was founded to create a standard of excellence in hearing health care and promote continuing competency assurance.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We have the distinction of being the only organization that board certifies hearing aid dispensing. Our credential Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences (BC-HIS) is a worldwide symbol of excellence. Some states and Canadian Provinces require our certification to obtain a license to dispense. We are also accredited by the National Commission of Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one office in Farmington Hills, MI, but we have board certified professionals around the world. We contract with a psychometric firm that has exam centers around the world so professionals have access to our certification exam.

Our company is a 501c(6). It is run by a staff of 2 full time and 2 part-time employees, with oversight from a Board of Directors, who are all Board Certified professionals.
