How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I had dogs as pets when I was a child, then I had dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters and fish as an adult with children. When I had a health scare in 2007 I decided that I needed to do something that I enjoyed so, I enrolled in a course that taught Companion Pet Dog Training. I volunteered at dog shelters to help with the training, and therefore, a higher rate of adoption. I worked as a dog trainer part time while working full time at a corporate position. When my corporate position of 27 years was eliminated I turned to classes on Pet Sitting and Pet First Aid & CPR to round out my knowledge and become someone that I would hire to care for my 3 dogs and 3 cats if I were away.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Crazy Good Pet Care and Dog Training does not have independent contractors. When you hire me, I provide the service. I keep my prices low so that the service is available to more people who would benefit from a support person to help care for their pets.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I service Farmington, Farmington Hills and West Bloomfield.
My low prices keep me local. I could service another area with a mileage surcharge of $0.58 per mile.
