The Motion Picture Institute (MPI) is the oldest film school in Michigan and has been training filmmakers since 1998. Our Motion Picture Production Program and our NEW Motion Picture Actors Program is entirely hands on and are both designed and taught by film professionals who bring years of practical field experience to the classroom.
The film program takes one year to complete and is one of the most affordable film programs in the country while our acting program puts our students in their first staring role.

What is your primary product or service?
We are the oldest vocational film school in Michigan.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We offer a comprehensive, well rounded, one year film education that includes intensive hands on training in filmmaking that includes film directig, editing, screenwriting and production related skills such as cinematography, lighting, audio, and management.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?

Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
The company is privately owned by a group of shareholders. It is governed by a seven member panel board of directors. The school president is Douglas Schulze and the CFO is Kurt Eli Mayry.
What are your hours of operation?
Mon thru Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm - office hours / Sat 11:00 am to 5:00 pm
Classes sessions are offered from 9:00 am to 10:30 pm Mon - Thursday.
